So Little Time, So Many Job Portals

We are often asked which Job Portal is best for doing job searches in Singapore. Strategically, its best of course to use more than one portal. This is because some companies have exclusive arrangements with one specific job search portal, and their positions will only be found there. Here are a few of my favorites:

LASALLE GOTJOB Career Services Portal – while our portal is just a year old, one
of the best features is the Job Alerts function. You can set your preferences to
receive job alerts every day, week, or month. You don’t have to go to the jobs…
the jobs come to you.

CULTJOBS.com – This is a fantastic portal for creative jobs and internships,
specializing in advertising, media, design, and marketing positions. Highly
recommended.

LINKEDIN Jobs App – If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile, stop reading and set
one up! Once you do, get the LinkedIn jobs app and set your preferences. The
algorithm is superb, and you’ll get a regular list of carefully curated jobs
appropriate to your search needs. If the positions aren’t quite right for you, be
sure to adjust your preferences.

COMPANY SITES – If you know what industry you are targeting, and you have a
decent list of target companies, why not go to each of their websites and search
for Careers in the menu. You’ll get the latest positions, and when you send in
your CV, it will be going directly to the company, and not filtered through a third
party agent. Your information will also be uploaded in the format the company
prefers, which may give you a slight extra edge.

If you don’t hear back, it could be that your CV is in a format the bots can’t read…
you can learn more about that in the BOTS article on this site. Good luck!
